You will learn:
This short course is a module of the JDMIS Foundation Certificate in Jewellery Fabrication using Metal Clay. For information about how this course fits into a complete jewellery education, visit our Continuing Education Roadmap
  • Understand how to work the clay-type product maintaining the consistency to form fundamental shapes you want;
  • Dry, file and sand the piece to ensure a smooth and professional finish;
  • Feel confident in firing the product to obtain the solid 999 fine silver result using 3 methods, kiln, torch and home gas stove;
  • Succeed in polishing and finishing the creation to professional standards then learning how to set a gemstone in a 4 prong mounting.

* This program includes all materials needed. Students may make use of classroom equipment during class and practice sessions.
