Application procedures for Foreign Students


How to Apply

Step 1 - Check Admission Requirements
  • Check that you meet the admission requirements for the course; where applicable student may be required to take an English Placement Test if they do not meet the English Proficiency requirements.

Step 2 - Fill in the Application Form
  • Complete the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) Form 16 & V36:

  • Attach certified copies of academic certificates, transcripts, English language test results (if applicable), and any other supporting documents.

  • If the required documents are not in English, official translations as well as copies in the original language are required.

Step 3 - Send Us the Application

  • Send your application, with all supporting documents and bank draft to the JDMIS representative in your country or to JDMIS in Singapore at the following address:

    Your application should reach us at least 2 months before the commencement of the course. To avoid delay, please ensure that you have signed all application forms and attached all supporting documents.


Step 4 - Accepting the Offer

Once you have been accepted by the JDMIS, you will receive the following:
  • A conditional letter of offer
  • An acceptance form
  • A sample student contract and information about the Student Protection Scheme
  • Fee, course, refund and withdrawal information

You should sign the acceptance form and return it to the school at least 6 weeks before your scheduled start date to allow for adequate processing time for your student pass. With this acceptance form, you should include your course deposit, student pass processing fee and any other fees relevant to you that will be clearly outlined in your acceptance package. Step 5 - Your Student Pass

  • Upon receipt of your acceptance form, deposit and the applicable non-tuition fees (eg: Student Pass Application, Visa Processing, Sponsorship Administration), we will make the necessary application for your student pass.

  • Please note that the student pass takes about 4 to 6 weeks to process.

  • Upon approval of your student pass, you will receive 2 copies of a Student Standard Contract between you and the JDMIS.

  • You should complete, sign and return 1 copy of the Student Standard Contract to us or to the JDMIS Representative in your country.

  • Before departing for Singapore, you should make payment of the Full tuition fees into the Escrow Account.



Special Notes for Students from the People's Republic of China -

PRC nationals are required to obtain a VISA to enter Singapore. Sufficient funds to cover the costs of education and living in Singapore must be shown in order for such a visa to be issued. Students from PRC will be required to present to the Singapore Embassy, a notarised letter from their bank, or that of their parents, stating that they have RMB150,000 in their account. This is required for the issance of an entry visa.

New applications by PRC nationals, who are above 19 years old (i.e, passed their 19th birthday at the time their applications are submitted to ICA) and wish to attend a language, commercial, vocational or fine arts non-graduate/postgraduate degree course, will be routed to the Singapore Embassy in Beijing (where an interview with the applicant may be required) for processing before routing to ICA for assessment.
